happy 4th birthday, brecken

Happy 4th Birthday to our Brecken Thomas.  What a sweet gift he is.  We love his sweet personality, when he laughs really hard at something, the way he plays with his toys, his happy demeanor, and his love for food, screens, & playing games.  He has such a big heart...& we are so thankful that God gave him to us.  Though he is shy around others, he has a big personality at home.  Happy Birthday, Brecken.  We love you so very much!!

A pic with Averie & with Mommy...before heading to dinner of his choice, Red Robin.  Yum! ;)
Bracken picked Red Robin for his dinner.  He was in preschool for the beginning of his birthday, and then he got to play with his toys from his friends for the afternoon.  It was a good day!

Uncle Art (& Aunt Kelly, but she couldn't make dinner) had his name for his birthday, so Brecken was excited to be getting gifts from them.
Opening his gifts...
...& he is pretty happy about it!
(Thanks, Uncle Art & Aunt Kelly, for my Batman lego, firetruck, & construction lego!)
Time for cake!
Making a wish and blowing out his candle...
...& forcing a smile :)
Opening his gifts from Poppy & Nana as well!
Thanks to Poppy & Nana for the coloring book, police car & police helicopter!
Daddy & Mommy with the birthday boy!
Poppy doesn't hold Emmersyn very much, so when Mommy caught him holding her, he had to snap a picture...might be one of first few that Mommy has of him holding her!
Daddy had a really busy day at work, so he wasn't able to come home before dinner to watch Brecken open gifts.  So, we got to wait until after dinner.  He was so excited to open his gifts...
...& he really liked all his gifts!

What a wonderful day we had celebrating our Brecken.  We are so thankful for him!!

party with friends

The day before my birthday, I got to have my birthday party with my friends.  I chose Monkey Joe's...and I chose my sock monkey themed plates & napkins.  It was such a fun party...bouncing & jumping around with some of my good friends!  I am happy to be turning 4 years old!

serving

Daddy & Mommy are part of a wonderful small group at our church.  They love serving & helping when they can.  One opportunity the group recently had was to go to the Ronald McDonald house and serve a home cooked meal to the families staying there, play Bingo with them, & minister to them in any way possible.  Mommy met some amazing families there and had such a wonderful time.  While there were a few families there due to childhood sickness (so sad), there were also a few families there due to a preemie baby.  Thankfully, most of the families there seemed to all be doing well.  Mommy had a great time serving with her small group!

Mommy & Mrs. Jessica playing Bingo with some of the kids!
After serving, the group got a tour of the facility.  Here was a case showing the story about the "Lego King."  This little boy, aged 7, had a rare form of cancer.  While in the hospital for 8 months, he received many lego sets.  He loved putting them all together.  Sadly, he lost his earthy battle with cancer, but he will be remembered as the "Lego King," the boy who fought cancer bravely & loved building legos.

This was a wall of quotes in the basement of the facility.  All the quotes were quite wonderful for Mommy to read and enjoy!
Our group (along with a few younger kids that were staying there)...what a wonderful night...what a wonderful opportunity!

go hornets

The Buzz is Back...we are so excited to be the Charlotte Hornets again.  Not that we remember, but Daddy & Mommy remember going to Hornets games, so it was fun to talk about those memories.  Daddy & Mommy got 4 tickets to one of the games recently, and they took Brecken & me.  We were so excited, especially me, since I was hoping to get a glimpse of Michael Jordan...and watch the Hornets win.  Well, I didn't get to see Michael Jordan, but I totally got to see the Hornets win...in overtime.  What a game!!
