random summer fun

We had lots of fun this summer.  Weekly playgroups, lots of swimming, trips to Carowinds, free bowling, playing in the backyard, riding bikes, reading books, watching movies, family nights, playing games, & enjoying less routine.  We also did a little school throughout the week.  While doing school, I decided I was ready to write his name...& here I am practicing hard...
...& I did it!!  Mommy was SO excited!!
Emmersyn loves to read.  Daddy enjoys reading books to her!
I have been wanting to go on a boy's night with Daddy for a while.  Daddy & Mommy were going to wait and start that tradition (boy's nights with Daddy and date nights with Mommy) for when I started kindergarten, but they decided that Daddy could take me out this summer.  We ate pizza, played video games, and shared frozen yogurt.  We had so much fun together...& I love spending time with my Daddy!  I am so glad that I get to start taking part in this tradition.
Averie all ready for her girl's night with Mommy...
...& she had the whole night planned out.  They went to the Christian bookstore, got new school shoes at Rack Room, painted pottery, & shared fondue at Melting Pot.  They had a blast together!
Brady ready for his date night with Mommy.  (Daddy had taken him on a boy's night earlier in the summer, but we don't always take pics...& they always have a blast together!  Same with Averie!)
Mommy & her Brady
He was excited to pick out his Bible at the Christian bookstore.  He was excited about it that he read it all the way to Rack Room...
...& it was precious.  Daddy & Mommy pray often that our hearts will seek after Christ!
After the bookstore & getting school shoes at Rack Room, they enjoyed a fondue feast together.  (Brady was also super excited to get Coke since he only can have it very few times in the summer.)  Afterwards, they played some arcade games together.  They had so much fun together!
One of our many fun adventures at Carowinds.  We ran into Snoopy and gave him a big hug!
Emmersyn just watched us...
...& gave Mommy some sweet smiles while we rode a few rides!
Averie & Brady love this Crabby Lucy ride...laughing while they get tossed around!
(I was happy on my boat ride!)
We all also love this pirate ride...

...but, Brady & I really love White Water Falls.
We love getting soaked.
(Meanwhile, Averie is busy riding the Fury with Daddy!)
Karaffa Kids enjoying their day at Carowinds!
Here we are being "creative" at home...taekwondo belts, scarf, winter hats, a nerf gun...& you're all set for our fun!
We are being such boys...but, at least we are using our imagination and having fun together!
We were so happy to get a trampoline this summer (well, Brady got it for his birthday)...we jump o it almost every day...playing basketball, doing tricks, flipping (well, not me yet), and laughing...
These crazy kids also take turns dunking the ball.  Loving it!
This summer, we also had our 2nd cousins visit us from Holland.  We had so much fun with them...eating, swimming, Carowinds, pedicures, Melting Pot, laughing, and playing.  We all had a blast with them, and we already miss them!
(Averie with Elize, JoAnn, & Linda)
Our gang at Carowinds.  We stayed from lunch until closing at 10 and loved it!
We also got to enjoy a day trip to Poppy & Nana's mountain house and enjoy a few hours slow tubing dow the river.  It took us about 2 hours to tube, but we had fun splashing in the water and sharing lots of giggles with our cousins.  Afterwards, we enjoyed dinner together and headed home.
(Me, Brady, McKinly, Averie, Stephanie, & Easton...Poppy & Nana played with Emmersyn while we tubed!)
Daddy & Mommy...ready to relax on the river!
Emmersyn couldn't join us on the tubing adventure, but she gets to take baths in the kitchen sink, so it's all good!
And, she loves it!
She also loves to climb on anything, including this super cute adirondack chair that we saw at dinner one night!
And, finishing off our summer fun with some play-doh...
...building lots of creations and having lots of fun!
We sure had a wonderful summer!
