summer fun

We love summer time.  No homework, no 6:30 wake up call (usually), no uniforms...well, you get the idea.  Plus, we love swimming, date nights, trips to Carowinds, screen time, family trips, & more.  At the beginning of the summer, we tell Mommy 3 activities that we want to do each summer, and each summer, we make sure to accomplish them.  Funny thing...we typically pick the same things...date night with our parents, a trip to Carowinds, & going to Myrtle Beach.  But, we pack lots more into our summer, but don't always get pictures.  Here are some highlights of the start of our summer fun...

We log many hours of swimming...our pool, Aunt Helen's pool, Oma's pool...we love it!

We get to get scooter rides from our uncles.  I (Emmersyn) get one from my (favorite) Uncle Art whenever I ask and he is available.  

The uncles & older cousins played each other in a basketball game one Saturday, and we cheered them on.  It was a fun game to watch...pretty competitive, but all VW's are. 😉

And, we love going to Carowinds a few times each summer.  And, every year, we always have to stand here...where we are in 2 states at one time...North Carolina & South Carolina.  We love the rides (Brecken is tall enough for every ride now and loves that!), and we love all the fun & laughter together!

At the end of June, our church, Christ Community Church, had VBX (Vacation Bible Extreme) for a week.  Mommy volunteered with the 2nd graders, Averie volunteered, and the rest of us got to attend.  We had a fun week together at our "Game On" themed VBX...& Mommy even got sprayed with silly string at the end of the week.  We loved all the singing, dancing, playing games, and learning more about God's love for us.  We are very thankful for our church.
